Trinity United Methodist Church gets new Chimemaster Carillons

Trinity United Methodist Church received a new, upgraded bell-ringing system Friday. Brian Michaels and John Passarelli of New Vibrations Audio & Video in Morrisdale replaced the church’s outdated I.T. Verdin Co. church bell system with a new Chime Master system. According to Michaels, the old technology was equipped with vacuum tubes and, in essence, an 8-track cassette tape. The new digitally recorded system is controlled with a wireless remote and features more than 800 hymns, bugle calls, funeral tolls and even bagpipes. New software will allow the church to play hymns by season, customize what is played during weddings, and funerals and program up to 10 years in advance.
